Shinya OKI (Professor) Shinya graduated from the School of Engineering at Osaka Univ in 2000 and then completed the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Medicine at Osaka Univ in 2007 (Ph.D. in Medicine). Since the same year, he has served as an assistant professor and then lecturer at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences at Kyushu Univ, and as a specially appointed associate professor at the Graduate School of Medicine at Kyoto Univ since 2020. He assumed his current position in April 2024. For over ten years, starting as a graduate student, he immersed himself in research on mouse developmental biology. Believing that a data-driven approach was necessary to understand spatiotemporal gene expression, he became engrossed in data science using supercomputers in his mid-30s. Since then, he have been passionate about developing omics technologies. His research interest is to unravel the mysteries of developmental phenomena through a dual focus on data analysis and technological development while advancing applications in medicine and drug discovery. Hobbies: Cooking and drinking. Visiting Buddhist statues. Mountain climbing. |

Ryuichi KIMURA (Assistant Professor) Ryuichi graduated from the School of Science at Kitasato Univ in 2010 and the completed the doctoral program at Tohoku Univ Graduate School of Medicine in 2015 (Ph.D. in Medicine). Since the same year, he has served as an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Medicine at Tohoku Univ starting and then a specially appointed assistant professor at the Medical Innovation Center at Kyoto Univ in 2020. He assumed the current position in April 2024. |

Zhaonan ZOU (Assistant Professor) Zhaonan was born in Shenyang, Mainland China. He graduated from the Kyushu Univ School of Medicine in 2017 and then completed the doctoral program at Kyoto Univ Graduate School of Medicine in 2023 (Ph.D. in Medical Science). Since the same year, he has served as a JSPS Overseas Research Fellow before assuming current position in April 2024. While at Kyushu Univ, he was a member of a developmental biology laboratory, where he elucidated the mechanisms underlying fetal malformations caused by maternal diabetes. There, he also learned anatomy and molecular biology techniques. As his research progressed, he realized the potential of identifying environmental factors and drug targets through integrated, data-driven analysis of big biological data. Consequently, he shifted his focus to data science during his doctoral studies and has remained in this field ever since. |
